A popular English language online radio show in Budapest, Hungary is also available as a podcast. The show, called Budacast, covers various topics that are of interest to expats living in the city. Hosted by "Uncle Drew", the latest episode is called "Bureaucrats and Baseball Bats", and deals with the difficult Hungarian bureaucracy that expats regularly gripe about.
The featured guest, Andrea Szalczer-Leifheit, head of Expatriate Services at Helpers, recommends patience when dealing with state officials in Hungary, not to mention a command of the Hungarian language. In most cases she says it's best to call offices to confirm details, because information they post online is often inaccurate or out-of-date. Uncle Drew and his wife Andrea also give tips for what to do in the city, including a concert at the Muveszetek Palotaja featuring German singer Max Raabe.

Periszkop Radio is a Hungarian online radio station that specializes in Hungarian alternative music. After you listen to this station for a while, it will be easy to see why it's so popular with music fans in Hungary and beyond. The station plays a mix of music that you won't find on standard radio playlists, and serves the city of Pecs and the downtown area with a blend of music that is sure to scare the neighbors and frighten small children.
For example, they recently played a bass-rumbling track from Isis and followed it up with a selection of thrash metal and alternative rock. The station dubs itself as the most unknown radio station in Pecs, which is the fifth largest city in Hungary. Pecs borders Croatia and Serbia, and it is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese in the area.

On Monday, Millennium Radio New Jersey announced that 11 local radio stations would be acquired by investor group Oaktree Capital Management.
The agreement, which is subject to required regulatory approvals regarding the local radio stations, calls for Oaktree to recapitalize the company in order to strengthen its balance sheet and position it for continued growth.
"Following the acquisition of the local radio stations, we will benefit from a strong financial position and solid cash flow, giving us the flexibility to continue to invest in our operations and execute our strategy," Millennium's President and CEO, Bill Saurer said.
New Jersey Radio veteran Tom Taylor speculates that Oaktree Management will eventually turn the local radio stations over to Connecticut-based Townsquare Media. Townsquare currently operates 170 local radio stations across the country. The company's biggest investor is Oaktree Capital.
