Online Radio Show in Budapest

A popular English language online radio show in Budapest, Hungary is also available as a podcast. The show, called Budacast, covers various topics that are of interest to expats living in the city. Hosted by "Uncle Drew", the latest episode is called "Bureaucrats and Baseball Bats", and deals with the difficult Hungarian bureaucracy that expats regularly gripe about.

The featured guest, Andrea Szalczer-Leifheit, head of Expatriate Services at Helpers, recommends patience when dealing with state officials in Hungary, not to mention a command of the Hungarian language. In most cases she says it's best to call offices to confirm details, because information they post online is often inaccurate or out-of-date. Uncle Drew and his wife Andrea also give tips for what to do in the city, including a concert at the Muveszetek Palotaja featuring German singer Max Raabe.
