Pop music, or popular music, is often played on radio Hungary. Hungarians, like most people, enjoy listening to music on the radio. When it comes to popular music in Hungary, the main genres of popular music that are played on the radio include rock, electronic music, hip hop, metal and punk.

Hungary's pop music has expanded in the past few years, especially after it was very restricted during the Communist era which ended in 1989. During the Communist rule in Hungary, a Song Committee would examine all songs and would censor any songs that were though to have a subversive element to them. Hungarian pop music has since recovered, and there have been a number of successful musical performers that are played on the radio.
